Micro Seiki DD-5

This is the beautiful 1975 Micro Seiki DD-5 Turntable.

Micro Seiki was a high end Japanese turntable manufacturer that started to produce exquisite and sought-after turntables in the 60’s and 70’s.

The DD-5 was in Seiki’s mid-range, the design is appreciated not just for its functionality but also as a piece of 1970s audio history, with its straightforward controls, precision engineering, and timeless aesthetic appeal that embodies the era’s design ethos – it achieved recognition with a Good Design Award (Japan) in 1976 along with DD-7.

This one as a Brand new cover  and a Ortofon 2M Red Cartridge.

This is a really nice piece, with a high level of clarity and precision. Great turntable.

“Not only did Micro Seiki make some of the best TTs ever made, they had a big hand in the design and manufacture of countless great ones for other brands at the time — and that time was the peak, the “Golden Age” of vinyl”
