Here’s a fine example from Kenwood, the KD-500 and 550 are two classics from a time when things were built to last.
This device has the particularity of having the top of the base made of ARCB, a composite that looks like marble stone, very beautiful.
If turntables like the KD-500 or 550 with this level of quality were manufactured today, they would cost many thousands of euros.
The KD-500 and KD-550 are the same device, the difference lies in the arm installed. The KD-500 left the factory without an arm, which allowed those who bought it to install an arm of their choice, while the 550 was marketed with a Kenwood arm.
This particular example is a KD 500, with a Micro-Seiki MA-303 neck installed and a Shure M95ED cartridge.
It sounds great!!!
