The Denon DP 1700w is a set comprising a DP-1700 wooden plinth base, a DP 1000 motor and an DA 50 tonearm.
The Denon DP-1000, released in Japan in 1974 during the “Golden Era” of Japanese audiophile equipment, is a high quality direct-drive turntable aimed at the entry level of the audiophile market.
The DP-1000 was designed based on the Denon DP-3000, a highly regarded turntable with an AC direct drive servo motor and extremely high rotational and pitch accuracy (same motor system employed in this DP-1000) ).
Though they do not have a mainstream following outside of Japan, among Japan-savvy audiophiles Denon turntables have a phenomenal reputation for their quality of sound as well as construction.
This DP-1000 is mounted in a Denon DP-1700 plinth.
