Pioneer PL 560

Built in 1978-79, the PL 560 is a Pioneer jewel, top of the line at the time, fully automatic with Quartz Lock. You can’t ask for more.

The Pioneer PL-560 is a direct drive turntable built to last, with no belt, it will keep playing non-stop for decades…

The similarities between the Pioneer PL 560, 540 and 518 are many, they shared the same structure and arm, in the case of the 540 and 560, they also had the same motor, with Quartz Lock, and the same platter, the most advanced model, the PL 560, being fully automatic.

Lots of quality, Direct Drive, Automatic, 2 motors, smooth rotation, simple to use, very solid, great sound too, it’s a great turntable.

Performance specs are good: signal to noise ratio 73dB or less, while wow/flutter is an excellent 0.03% or less.

The controls of the Pioneer PL-560 are grouped on the right hand side of the unit along with the strobe light for easy handling.

It also has a unique Pitch Control Meter to manually control the speed of the record, which makes it very cool…

The flaw, the rubber on the feet breaks down over time which makes it very difficult to find one that still has the original feet.

Overall, the PL-560 is very good, good sounding, reliable and simple to use.

I've had 2 of these, they are great...
